In this tutorial you will learn how to make the knitted broken rib stitch.
This is a variation of the rib stitch and it is a stitch that is super easy to work.
The stitch produces a pronounced rib effect. However, it is not as stretchy as a standard rib.
This makes this knitted stitch great for making hand bags, beanies, and scarfs.
You only need to know how to knit and purl to make the broken rib stitch.
Start by casting on in multiples of 2 plus 1. The pattern is then knitted over two rows:
- Row 1: Knit the entire row
- Row 2: K1, *p1, k1; repeat from * to end
