A Valuable Lesson in Letting Go …
Are you obsessing about your next knit? If you are anything like me, you are probably not just obsessing about your next knit, but also about the next one after that, and the next one … . In my humble opinion, most knitters probably have a “compulsive disorder”.
This little video created by Laura Neuvonen, is a funny take on the obsessive nature of a knitter. However, the Last Knit (Anima Vitae, Finland 2005) is not just about knitting but also about how work can grow larger than a person and how one must, at times, learn to let go.
The only character in this animated short film is a humorous, but frantic, almost mad woman. It will cause you to sit on the edge of your seat as you wait for the inevitable to come …
In my opinion, the sparse setting and the dramatic facial expressions are the perfect combination for this take on our obsessive hobby: knitting.
I hope that anyone else who knits, or knows a knitter, will appreciate this entertaining film featuring an innovative woman as much as I do …
Put your needles down for a few minutes and view this captivating video!
