Learn How You Can Be Knitting Using Double Pointed Needles
In this video tutorial, we are going to take a look at how your can be knitting using double pointed needles.
Many knitters, even more seasoned ones, avoid knitting with double pointed needles. There can be many reasons for this, but many find having 3 or 4 different needles to work complicated.
And yes, having so many needles can be a bit awkward at first, but you will soon find a comfortable way of holding all of those pointy needles while knitting.
The most tricky part is to get started and that is what is focused most on in this video tutorial from Sapphires n Purls.
It is also important to choose the right knitting needles. DPNs come in all different lengths and sizes so make sure you use a set of needles that is right for your project.
When you are first starting out, you might find it easier to use bamboo needles. Bamboo needles tend to be a bit more “sticky” so there is less chance of the yarn slipping off.
You may also find it easier to learn using thicker needles and a more chunky yarn.
