The basic idea of a mitered square is that your cast on becomes the two outside edges of a square.
You knit your cast-on stitches and decrease in the middle until you have only one stitch left.
This technique will leave you with a perfect square that makes for really interesting directional knitting.
A mitered square is usually knitted in just the garter stitch and there are a few different ways you can make them.
We are going to show you the method that is probably the most common.
By using two colors or variegated yarn you can end up some really interesting results.
