The finished octopus should have a circumference of about 20.5 inches. The height of the body should be about 7.5 inches. And finally, the length of each arm should be about 10 inches.

In metric measurements, that is a circumference of about 52 cm, a body height of about 19 cm and an arm length of about 25.5 cm.

This super cute knitted octopus has been designed by Whitney over at Purl Soho. She has written a great pattern. The written instructions are accompanied by a great photo tutorial.

The pattern makes use of the Kitchener stitch to attach the octopus legs to the body. You may find this tutorial useful: The Kitchener Stitch [A How To Video Tutorial].
