Learn How To Do The Kitchener Stitch
Many knitting patterns make use of the Kitchener stitch, but do you know how to do it?
This particular stitch is a great way to to invisibly graft two pieces of knitting together. Many sock patterns will use this method for grafting the toe of the socks.
However, this is a versatile method that can be used for many other purposes as well.
This short video tutorial has been made by Tina MeElmoyl over at WEBS.

Have a question……………………..is it possible to solve my ‘too long sleeves” problem by cutting the sleeve near the cuff, cutting out the extra length, and putting the cuff and sleeve arm together again with the Kirchener stitch ?
Hi Natalie,
Thank you for contacting us.
We would never recommend “cutting” the sleeves per se. The most ideal way to make corrections to the length is to unravel the stitches. But this is like shooting in the dark for us since we don’t have details on the stitches used. Simply recommending something we don’t have a clear idea about is in itself, a bad idea, so to speak.
We strongly recommend that you do some quick research in altering lengths. One great video we found is this:
I hope this helps.
All the best!
