Make This Stylish 1898 Knitted Hat With Earflaps
This stylish 1898 knitted hat with earflaps is sure to keep your warm in rough weather.
The designer responsible for this great hat is Kristine Byrnes. She won SCI’s competition for a hat incorporating earflaps.
This hat’s headband is knitted side to side, and it provides a double layer of garter stitch to keep the ears warm.
Kristine has used a provisional cast on when knitting this hat. Not familiar with a provisional cast on?
You can find a great video tutorial here: Provisional Knitted Cast On [A How To Knitting Tutorial].
You can download the FREE knitting pattern for this delightful hat with earflaps from The Seamen’s Church Institute’s website.

I am knitting my first 1898 hat but keep getting stuck on part where it says:

When I sl3 wyif I get a loop behind the 3 stitches.
Can you please tell me what i am doing wrong so I can get past this.
Many thanks
